How Much of a Communist is Bernie Sanders?

He calls himself a “progressive,” or when pushed, a “democratic Socialist.” But is that a smokescreen for the real Bernie Sanders? Is he a lifelong, diehard, full-blown Communist? Let’s look at his past and his actions.

Bernie Sanders has a lifelong, radical-communist history.

In 1964, when he was a student at the University of Chicago, he joined the Young People’s Socialist League. He was also an organizer for the United Packinghouse Workers Union, which was being investigated at the time by the House Committee For Un-American Activities (who investigated communist organizations).

After graduating, Sanders moved to Vermont and produced a glowing documentary about the socialist revolutionary Eugene Debs, who was jailed for espionage during the 60’s Red Scare and hailed by the Bolsheviks as “America’s Greatest Marxist” (translation — “communist”). In a 1918 speech in Canton, Ohio, Debs reaffirmed his solidarity with the Soviet communists, Lenin and Trotsky. Seems that Debs was a hero of Bernie Sanders, since he hung Debs’ portrait in his Senate Office.

During the 1970s, Bernie helped to found the Liberty Union Party. This party called for the nationalization of all US banks and the public takeover of all private utility companies. That’s what the commissars did in the Communist Soviet Union, Communist China, and Communist Cuba. “Nationalization” is the communist code-word for the outright theft of private property, nationwide.

In 1981, after being elected mayor of Burlington, Vermont, when he had some real power, he restricted property rights for landlords, set price controls, and raised property taxes to pay for communal land trusts. Local small businesses distributed fliers complaining that their new mayor “does not believe in free enterprise (meaning capitalism, freedom, and property rights — classic communist positions).

In 1985, he took a “goodwill” trip to communist Nicaragua, to celebrate the communist Sandinistas’ takeover in that country. He also honeymooned with his second wife in the communist Soviet Union. Of all places on earth to have your honeymoon, who would pick the Soviet Union? Bernie obviously ADMIRED the brutal communist regime that, under Stalin, was estimated to have murdered almost 20 million Russian citizens (see books “The Black Book of Communism” and “Death By Government”). THIS is the country and brutal political system that Bernie Sanders admired and went to on his honeymoon.

Today, Bernie Sanders wants to bring his communist roots and beliefs to the land of the free. For starters, he proposes that we completely nationalize our health care system and put private health insurance and drug companies “out of business.” He also wants to break up “big banks” and “control” the energy industry, while providing “free” college tuition, a “living wage” and guaranteed homeownership and jobs through massive public works projects. Estimated price tag: $18 trillion.

These are exactly the same kinds of programs the communists created in the Soviet Union, Communist China, Communist Cuba, and the starving, socialist “paradise” of Venezuela.

Who would pay for Bernie’s “socialist”/communist boondoggles? As always, you, the hard-working taxpayer will. Sanders wants to loot not only the productive, job-creating rich with a 90- percent-plus tax rate and charge Wall Street a “speculation” tax, but hit every American with a “global-warming tax.” This, in spite of the fact that “global warming” is a radical-left hoax specifically designed to justify looting the rich and looting America.

However, these confiscatory/looting taxes on productive Americans would only cover the cost of his communist “redistribution” schemes for a short period of time. After looting the productive rich, a President Sanders would then have to loot the middle class he claims to champion, with sharply higher income taxes and Social Security taxes.

Bernie Sanders, as a full-blown radical-socialist/communist, believes in the classic political credo of communist parties around the world — “from each according to his ability, to each according to his need.” Translated, that means loot/steal the hard-earned money of the productive middle-class and rich to “redistribute” this stolen booty to lower-income voters who will continue to vote the Democrats into power. Bernie Sanders, the communist, sees the government’s primary role as a fence for stolen property.

This is exactly what has happened in the People’s Socialist Republic of California, which is now completely Democrat-controlled, and which has the highest state income tax rate in the country. If Bernie Sanders were elected President, America would become one big California (or Venezuela), and then God help us and America.

Is Bernie Sanders a full-blown, die-hard communist? Well, if it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it’s safe to assume it’s a duck.
