BF Reviews the Best Website Builders for your Business

-

As everyone knows by now, almost innately, is that the first thing you do when you start a business is to create a web presence. You no longer need to spend thousands of dollars, although you can, to create a great website.

You’ve seen the advertisements for website creators, but which one is right for you, in terms of price point, online selling, etc. Because every business is different, they will have unique website needs. Let’s take a look at the major categories of website usage, and show you our suggestions for a website developer.

Overall website builder for small businesses: Webs. This is a great all-in-one site builder that is essentially free to start, and then you pay a monthly fee anywhere from $5 to $25 a month. Not bad. With powerful tools and flexible packages, Webs has solutions for everyone. Whether you want to build your own website for a small business, a personal blog, or a hub for your nonprofit, they have solutions for you.

Website builder for selling products: Squarespace. This site offers dedicated templates and features that can help you build a thriving eCommerce website, one that can help you sell your products online. Where some website builders will have check-out carts as an add-on, Squarespace has features such as the ability to sell unlimited products, subscriptions, and digital content, or take donations. Squarespace online stores can also offer things like tax tools, discount codes, gift cards, secure checkout, and abandoned cart recovery. Give them a look if you are an online retailer. One thing, you get what you pay for. Their monthly subscriptions can run up to $40, so make sure you need what you are paying for.

Website builder for booking appointments: Wix, Wix Bookings. If your small business involves selling services rather than actual physical items, then Wix and Wix Bookings might be the best website builder option for you. Wix Bookings allows those with Wix websites to do things like accept payments for services online, sync scheduled appointments with Google Calendar, manage clients, develop email marketing campaigns to advertise services, and let customers book appointments for services either on the web or via the Wix Mobile app. I am a big fan of those sites or apps that sync with my Google Calendar.

Website developers for building mobile sites: Shopify Online Store. This is another option for those who plan to sell products via their small business websites. What sets Shopify apart is its apparent understanding that more and more people are shopping on mobile devices these days and that it’s just as important for a business to have a functional and well-made mobile site as it is to have a great desktop site. Personally, I find it much easier to use the Amazon mobile app than the desktop site. Large businesses are already making mobile retail better. You should incorporate this into your business as well.

The best free website builder for small businesses: Jimdo. This is the socialist version of a website builder, as it is given to you for free. Just kidding. Call it what you like, Jimdo is a great option for small business owners who want to quickly create a website for their business, but also need a permanent free service option. As you would expect you only get part of the package for free. Upgrading to a premium service will run you anywhere from $10 to $40 a month. Oh, did I mention, it only takes 3 minutes to build!
